ALC, TRENDS Research & Advisory sign a memorandum of understanding to promote the Arabic language
ABU DHABI, 10 February 2022 – The Arabic Language Center Abu Dhabi (ALC), part of the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the research organization of points TRENDS Research & Advisory to jointly position Arabic as the dominant language on the world stage.
The agreement was signed during the 53rd Cairo International Book Fair, which recently concluded at the Egypt International Exhibition Center.
ALC’s mandate is to promote the use of the Arabic language around the world, aided by initiatives with partners.
TRENDS Research & Advisory, based in Abu Dhabi, analyzes geopolitical and economic opportunities and challenges, and assesses the impact of the most pressing issues facing the world today.
The two entities will collaborate on scientific research, expert exchange programs and organize joint scientific and research events, especially those related to the support, development and advancement of the Arabic language.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Dr.
Ali bin Tamim, president of the ALC, and Dr.
Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO and Founder of TRENDS Research & Advisory, with a number of officials from both organizations in attendance.
bin Tamim stressed the importance of the agreement to strengthen the Arabic language as a leader in the fields of culture and knowledge, explaining that the partnership with a prestigious research institution such as TRENDS Research & Advisory has added to the Center’s efforts to strengthen the influence of Arabic. language internationally.

This partnership with TRENDS Research & Advisory will help realize our vision to ensure the prominent role of the Arabic language in the cultural, creative and educational spheres, positioning Arabic as a pillar of communication on the world stage.

Al-Ali said, “This agreement with the Arabic Language Center in Abu Dhabi will open wider opportunities for cooperation in scientific and cultural fields to advance the Arabic language.
It will also extend to supporting cultural and research activities, ultimately achieving our common scientific and research goals by promoting joint efforts to spread the Arabic language and improve its global positioning.
Al Ali commended the efforts of the Arabic Language Center Abu Dhabi, particularly in promoting a culture of reading in the Arab community and its initiatives to support Arabic language learners.
The MoU will facilitate the parties’ joint efforts in the large-scale promotion of Arabic around the world, with crucial research enabling more accurate evaluation and development of Arabic language programs.
The agreement also provides for cooperation in the translation of books and scientific articles, the exchange of experts and researchers to write publications prepared by the two parties and participate in their respective scientific and research events.
